One of the most confusing steps is deciding where and when to refer our loved one to treatment. Do we need to do a medical detox? Do they take our insurance? How long is the waiting list? Do they specialize in the type of condition that our loved one suffers from? What about any co-occurring mental health diagnosis, eating disorder, sex addiction, etc?
Let us do the research, consult with admissions and provide you with a range of options. We have a history of working directly with a variety of facilities across the country that range in practice, specialty and insurance.
Our general approach is to invite the family to participate in a family meeting to discuss how the person struggling with addiction is affecting us and harming themselves. Here we explore how we can share our experience, strength, fears and hope to care for our struggling loved one and get out of the quicksand we find ourselves in.
Your interventionist will consult with members of the family before the meeting to assess some of the history, reluctance, motivations and treatment planning that may help to make the offer of treatment more effective.
Gathering as a family before the intervention has proven helpful in order to craft a message of hope and change that will show the struggling loved one how united their family is in showing up for them.
Your family has drawn together on this day to show the meaningful love and concern that you have for your loved one. Together, we will reach out to them and help them to accept the way out from pain, humiliation and self-inflicted injury that they cannot seem to get out of on their own.
We will discuss lovingly that we will no longer accept or support their behavior and demonstrate our family unity with love and acceptance. On this day we move forward to healing and working as a family to move past our pain.
We can make arrangements to transport your loved one to treatment. Whether a drive in the tristate area or flying across country, sometimes an immediate plan of action and separation from the bargaining and negotiating is called for. We can lovingly and safely arrange to transport your loved one to treatment.
Deciding where to go and how to navigate treatment can be complicated and bewildering. We work with facilities and providers that we are familiar with as having effective evidence-based treatment practices. Some modalities may be well suited for your loved one and others may not. We will work with your family to ensure that we are referring your loved one to a team and facility that will be able to effectively reach them. We do not take referral fees from facilities or individual providers. We can also assist in finding facilities and providers for the uninsured or the underinsured.
We can establish a plan for post-treatment continued care whether in connecting with a local outpatient, community supports, psychiatric care or continued family work once the loved one discharges from treatment and returns home
WHAT IF THEY DON'T SHOW?:
The most important step is that the family who have been told different stories and used for different responses come together and work together to make a change. The family is finally coming together to heal. We will meet before the intervention by phone and in person to find the best way to invite your loved one to participate and ensure that we get the opportunity to heal and offer change to our family member.
COST:
Costs vary depending on levels of services. There are no "add on" services invoiced after the intervention. You will get a straight answer about costs before the intervention occurs.
Costs range from $500 for a consultation to $4000-6000 for the intervention and extended services.
We are open to working with you to meet your needs without disrupting your ability to meet costs and move forward.
